Education Series - Long Hairstyling at Tappa

Wella Academy Long Hairstyling Workshop

We are so fortunate in our salon, that if we don’t have education/educators coming to us; we are going out to them.

In May, two of our team members attended the long hairstyling class with Sabrina Simeone at the Wella Academy in Liberty Village in Toronto. We were also very fortunate to stay at the Hotel X endorsed by the Wella Academy.  This hotel isn’t a 5 star, it’s a 10 star.

The great thing about our continual education program is that everyone benefits, our team and our guests.  We are able to offer to you the latest trends and techniques, while being educated in the tools and products required to create these looks as well as sustain them.

This Season it is very much still about braids and fish tails.  We want the braids not too “perfect”, they are looking more “undone” this season.  If putting the hair up, we want it to be loose and soft.

Long hair that is being styled half up or left down, we are building  “S” patterns and waves into the hair.  We are not creating perfect spiral curls, but rather softer, broken up waves.

If you are in the market for new hair tools to achieve these looks, the GHD brand is always a great option!! The three GHD tools recommended for these looks are the Blowdryer, the Platinum plus styler and the Curved Creative Curl Wand.

We also received much education on using the best products to create and maintain these looks.  For hairspray Sebastian's Shaper Plus and Shaper Fierce are both wonderful working and finishing sprays that leave the hair “dry” looking while having incredible hold.  Shaper Zero Gravity is a great option to build volume without creating stickiness. A great product for the foundation of all these looks is Mousse Forte and one of our favourite finishing products that give that clean polished look is Shine Define.
